Melanie Stein, ND

Saturday

Melanie Stein, ND, is a licensed naturopathic physician, cellular health expert, author, educator, and patient advocate. As owner and medical director of Restorative Health Clinic in Portland, Oregon, she is dedicated to changing how complex chronic illness is understood and treated, especially for patients who have struggled to find answers within the conventional healthcare system.

Dr. Stein earned her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and master’s degree in Acupuncture from the National University of Natural Medicine. During medical school, she awoke one morning completely paralyzed. After being repeatedly dismissed and diagnosed with conversion disorder, she pursued her own answers, ultimately uncovering chronic Lyme disease and multiple coinfections.

Living through severe illness, disability, and medical dismissal transformed the way Dr. Stein practices medicine. It gave her a profound understanding of the physical and emotional challenges faced by patients who have exhausted conventional options without finding answers or lasting relief.

Today, Dr. Stein specializes in Lyme disease and other tick-borne infections, mold illness and CIRS, MCAS, POTS, chronic fatigue, immune dysfunction, mitochondrial dysfunction, and other complex chronic conditions. Her cellular health approach focuses on repairing cell membranes and restoring cellular function to support energy production, detoxification, immune regulation, and the body’s innate healing capacity. She combines evidence-informed naturopathic medicine with compassionate, highly individualized care, empowering patients to restore hope and reclaim their quality of life.

Dr. Stein is the author of Breaking Through Chronic Illness: The Science of Cellular Repair and the Path to Lasting Recovery. Through her clinical work, writing, teaching, and media appearances, she translates complex medical concepts into clear, actionable pathways toward healing.
