Christopher Duhon, ND, LAc

Thursday

Christopher Duhon, ND, LAc, is a naturopathic doctor and licensed acupuncturist whose approach to medicine is rooted in the concept of terrain, the foundation or “soil” of a person’s health. Growing up in southern Louisiana near Lafayette, Dr. Duhon was deeply influenced by his grandmother, who taught him the importance of working with the earth and creating fertile soil to produce good fruit.

Dr. Duhon’s early adult years included personal struggles, addiction, and the deaths of family members. Through these experiences, his grandmother’s influence and example of unconditional love remained a source of strength and ultimately contributed to his desire to help others.

Dr. Duhon initially pursued a calling to ministry, attending Notre Dame Seminary in Louisiana, where he was ordained. He later earned a master’s degree in Spirituality and Spiritual Direction from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. During this period, he was introduced to craniosacral therapy, massage therapy, and herbal medicine. His exposure to herbal medicine once again reinforced for him the importance of the soil. Eventually, he recognized that to help people in the way he had envisioned, he would need to leave ordained ministry and pursue medicine.

Dr. Duhon attended Bastyr University, where he earned a Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. He subsequently studied at Paracelsus Klinik in Switzerland under the guidance of Dr. Thomas Rau. Before establishing his own practice, he served as an associate and mentee of Dr. Paul Anderson, whose work focuses on oncology and chronic disease. He has also worked under the guidance of Dr. Nasha Winters, who enriched his understanding of terrain-centric medicine.

Dr. Duhon’s passion is working with each person’s terrain, the foundation of their health, or their “soil.” He honors each patient’s uniqueness through individualized, personal care.
