Marie Matheson, ND

Dr. Matheson has a professional interest in infectious causes of chronic and complex autoimmune illnesses. She has a specialization in Lyme Disease and associated vector-borne illness. Her family practice is also devoted to chronically ill patients with Parasitic/Fungal/Viral Infections, Mold Toxicity, PANDAS/PANS, Autism (ASD), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Autoimmune and neurological conditions, environmental illness, and LDI /LDA.

Dr. Matheson believes in preventative medicine and the importance of determining the causal chain of illness by addressing toxicities at a cellular level. She looks beyond conventional labels often used to diagnose chronic illness to identify causal factors that allowed illness to manifest. Using her assessment tool of Auricular Medicine, Dr. Matheson uncovers blockages and underlying imbalances that have created symptoms, to allow the body to self-heal and auto-regulate.

Dr. Matheson completed her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine at the Boucher Instituteof Naturopathic Medicine in B.C. and was honored with the Award for Acupuncture Excellence. She has recently been featured in a chapter of Connie Strasheim’s recent book New Paradigms in Lyme Disease Treatment: 10 Top Doctors Reveal Healing Strategies That Work.

She is registered with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO), the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND), and the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND). She is on the Advisory Board for The Forum for Integrative Medicine (TFIM), a member of the AOR’s Medical Advisory Council, and is also a member of the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS). She completed ILADS’s Physicians Training Program with Dr. Charles Ray Jones, MD in Connecticut, who isarguably one of the top Pediatric Lyme Disease practitioners in the US.
